UAE Firm M42 Plans Invest in AP, Says Health Minister

Vijayawada: Health minister Y. Satya Kumar has said an Abu Dhabi-based firm, M42, has expressed an interest in investment in AP’s healthcare sector.

Stating this at a meeting he held with the health officials in Mangalagiri on Thursday, the minister said, “We have explained to the firm’s representatives about the opportunities for investment in business and also in the service sectors.”

“We explained about opportunities for investment in the Bulk Drug Park, Med Tech Zone spread over nearly 170 acres, three economic corridors, the upcoming health city in Amaravati and nine select municipalities being considered as health hubs.”

He said M42 had vast experience in areas like genomics, water safety, environmental surveillance, med tech, bio-tech etc. It evinced an interest in the construction of hospitals and in the new technology of genome sequencing wherein the quality of human life can be improved.

The minister said, “I advised them to go for a field visit to CRDA, Medtech Zone, economic corridors and other facilities to explore the opportunities for investment.”

He added, “We informed them about the kind of support the state government would give them by creating a conducive atmosphere for investment. We promised them requisite clearances for making investment through the single window and incentives to them as well.”

Health special chief secretary Krishna Babu, industries principal secretary N. Yuvaraj and APMSIDC managing director Lakshmi Shah were present.
