Vijayawada: Penuganchiprolu police registered a case against six TD workers for allegedly attacking YSRC activist Ginjupalli Srinivas Rao of Nawabpet in Penuganchiprolu Mandal uner Jaggayyapet constituency.

Srinivas Rao was attacked by a group while two others damaged his car at Konakanchi cross road in Penuganchiprolu Mandal late on Saturday night. An injured Srinivas Rao was shifted to Jaggayyapet government hospital.

YSRC leader and former Jaggayyapet MLA Samineni Uday Bhanu demanded that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stop the attacks on YSRC cadres in Jaggayyapet constituency and punish those TD leaders and cadres who attacked 15 YSRC leaders and activists in Jaggayyapet constituency alone in last two months.

Pointing out that YSRC never harassed or files cases against TD leaders between 2019 and 2024 in Jaggayyapet constituency, Uday Bhanu alleged that TD leaders in the constituency have been targeting YSRCP leaders ever since the Assembly election counting concluded while police plays a mute spectator.

The former government whip further alleged that Veeraiah, father of Srinivas Rao, had been killed by TDP leaders in 2009 in which TD MLA Sri Ram Tataiah’s brother Dhananjay was one of the accused. He further alleged that Dhananjay and TDP leaders are now plotting to kill Veeraiah’s son Srinivas Rao.
