TN Gets a New Chief Secretary

Chennai: N Murugantham, who was hitherto Secretary No 1 to the Chief Minister M K Stalin, took over as the Chief Secretary of the State from Shiv Das Meena, who has been appointed as chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority, on Monday.

Appointed as the 50th Chief Secretary of the State, Murugantham has held several key positions in the State during a bureaucratic career spanning more than three decades.

Collector of Thoothukudi, G Lakshmipathy, who was appointed as joint secretary in the Chief Minister’s office also assumed charge by calling on Stalin with the government creating the new post on a temporary basis.

K Elambahvath, who was director of public libraries, has been appointed as Thoothukudi collector.
