Congress celebrates as Rs 2 lakh loan waiver begins

Hyderabad: The Congress launched celebrations across the state on Sunday after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's announced the farm loan waiver scheme. The Chief Minister declared that the Congress government would waive Rs 2 lakh for all eligible farmers, with the implementation process already underway. Party leaders adorned the streets with Chief Minister's banners and commemorated the occasion by showering milk on portraits of Revanth Reddy.

In response to Opposition criticisms regarding the loan waiver, the Congress instructed its cadre to clarify the details of the government's scheme at the grassroots level. MLAs and MPs were urged to engage closely with party workers through active participation in party activities.

Members of the Telangana Government Teachers Association convened on Sunday to meet with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, expressing their appreciation for resolving longstanding issues. The Chief Minister addressed teacher concerns by approving pending promotions and pledged to enhance facilities in government schools while addressing other pertinent issues affecting teachers.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy issued strict directives to police officials on Sunday to ensure robust enforcement of law and order, particularly in cracking down on public alcohol consumption. In a tweet, the Chief Minister emphasised the prohibition of miscreants loitering late at night, mandated closure of business establishments by 11 pm, discouraged offering rides to suspicious individuals, and urged prompt reporting of any untoward incidents by dialing 100. Stringent actions against drug peddlers were also underscored in his directives.
