CS reviews Independence Day arrangements at Golconda Fort

 Hyderabad: Preparations are going on in full swing at Golconda fort for the Independence Day celebrations, where Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hoist the National Flag at the historic site. This will be the first time that Revanth Reddy will hoist the Tricolour as Chief Minister.

On Monday, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari visited Golconda fort to oversee the arrangements. She instructed officials to ensure flawless execution and to conduct the celebrations in a grand manner befitting the occasion.

The event is set to be a cultural showcase, with over 1,000 artistes performing diverse traditional art forms, highlighting the rich heritage of Telangana. Director, culture, Mamidi Harikrishna, announced that the celebrations will include performances by troupes specialising in traditional art forms such as Gussadi, Kommu Koya, Lambadi, Dappulu, Oggu Dollu, Kolatam, Bonalu Kolatam, Bhaindla Jamidikal, Chindu Yakshaganam, Karrasamu, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Perni and Nagara Bheri.

Stuents from various schools will participate to foster a sense of patriotism and pride among the younger generation.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari emphasised the need for robust security measures and directed the police department to ensure foolproof security and traffic arrangements to avoid any public inconvenience. She urged all relevant departments to work in close coordination to guarantee the event's success.

The inspection was attended by DGP Jitender, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, director protocol Venkat Rao, I&PR commissioner Hanumantha Rao, and other key officials.
