HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad economic offences wing (EOW) police arrested one Udandapuram Narsimhulu, a resident of Medak district, for allegedly fabricating and forging documents of government land in Allipur, Shivampet mandal and cheating two persons of Rs 1.7 crore.
The police were acting on a complaint lodged by N.V.V. Subrahmanyam of Suraram, who said Narsimhulu had told them that the land was private property. The complainant is a priest at the Sri Nikhila Sai Maitreya Madhusudhana Saraswati Peetham at Suraram Colony, Jeedimetla. He intended to purchase the land in Shivampet mandal to construct a temple, he told the police.

According to Subrahmanyam, Narsimhulu assured him of identifying a land parcel for the temple. The accused showed him land on the outskirts of Alipur, which Subrahmanyam agreed to purchase. It turned out that the land was held by the government.
