Food poisoning at Maganoor ZP school: HM among two suspended for negligence
Hyderabad: A day after 50 students from Maganoor Zilla Parishad School fell victim of food poisoning, the parents alleged that the food served in the hospital where the children were admitted contained worms.
While the allegations were condemned by officials, the school head master and a school assistant, responsible for the negligence, were suspended. However, the police have not registered any case into the incident.
In the videos that were circulated, some parents of the affected students were seen complaining about worms in the food served in the hospital.
Reacting to the videos, a senior official from the Mahbubnagar Government Hospital denied the charge.
He said, “The same food was consumed by the doctors and 250 others in the premises. The boy had suffered from vomiting even a day earlier. According to rules, we are supposed to serve khichdi. What the boy saw were peppercorns and not worms.”
Confirming the suspension of the two school officials, joint director of school education P. Madan Mohan told Deccan Chronicle that action has been initiated by the school education commissioner Narasimha Reddy. Those suspended were head master Muralidhar Reddy and school assistant Bapi Reddy respectively for their negligence.
