Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman on Saturday filed a complaint with the Rachakonda police commissioner alleging that she was sexually harassed by a sub-inspector attached to Hayathnagar police. The victim stated that SI K. Saidulu has allegedly been harassing her to come to his place for a physical relationship reportedly for the past 40 days.

The special branch is now investigating the case.

“We have recorded the complainant's statement and we are verifying the facts of the case. We will be submitting a report to the in-charge officer soon” a SB official said. “The woman is accusing the SI, who investigated her case. Her allegations are completely untrue”, claimed P. Nagaraju Goud, Hayathnagar inspector.

A woman from Abdullapurmet had on October 20 lodged a complaint stating that her husband was missing, Saidulu said.

“We registered a case and traced the husband through GPS to Kurnool. When I spoke to him, he cited his wife's harassment and was working in Kurnool,” Saidulu claimed.

He added that a few days later, the woman approached him and lodged another complaint stating that the car that is in her mother’s name was taken by her husband. “When I spoke to the husband, he said that he had been paying the EMIs,” the SI said.

“Three weeks back, she came to file a complaint that her husband had taken away `2 lakh cash and 40 tolas of gold to which I asked her go to the women’s police station as we are not supposed to take up civil disputes,” the SI said. “That is when she made baseless allegations against me because I did not take her civil case and reported the matter to the commissioner,” he said.
