Hyderabad: GHMC to cancel building permits for dumping debris on road
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has proposed to cancel building permission if the builder or the ones building structure dumps debris in public places like roads and lakes. Apart from seizing the vehicle which dumped debris, the officials will also initiate a legal action against the owner of the vehicle.
To identify the vehicles that dump construction and demolition waste, the GHMC town planning wing has started a series of measures including morning inspections to identify the offenders. They will also try to identify the source of debris and the person responsible.
“The vehicles used for dumping the waste will be identified and strict legal action will be initiated,” said a GHMC official. The action includes imposing heavy penalties in addition to revocation of building permits.
“Building permits associated with the construction site, whose debris was dumped illegally, will be revoked. Apart from this, legal proceedings against vehicles will be initiated against the builder and the vehicle owner,” said the GHMC official.
Officials have decided to strictly hold the vehicle owners accountable.
