Hyderabad: The Mahbub College Society urged transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar, in-charge minister for Hyderabad district, to direct the authorities to protect the age-old institution from the land sharks. From the institution premises, Bolton School, a multipurpose higher secondary school, Mahbub College and Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology are being run successfully.

In a memorandum submitted to the minister, society president P.L. Srinivas and other members pointed out that the Mahbub College Society had terminated the licence agreement reached with Venkat Narayan Educational Society (VNES) on October 6, 2024, because of material breaches as per the Easements Act and the Transfer of Property Act.

Srinivas said that the Mahbub College had filed a suit for illegal interferences by Dr K.V.K. Rao and K. Sriharsha Shashank of the VNES. “It is a grave crime on the part of VNES to illegally trespass on the premises and intimidate the members of Mahbub College and its staff,” he said and sought the government’s help

"On October 10, the High Court in its interim order banned any interference from the VNES. However, this order was grossly violated,” the society said in its representation to the minister.
