Hyderabad: Hyderabad police dropped the names of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy from the charge-sheet in a case filed by the Moghalpura police in connection with violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The names were dropped after the police confirmed that both Shah and Reddy did not violate MCC. In a notice issued to Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president G Niranjan, who was the complainant, the eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad, said the Moghalpura police filed a charge-sheet in the case and the names of accused number three and four - Shah and Reddy – respectively, were deleted as their role was not established.

The court directed Niranjan to appear before it on July 7 in person or through an advocate without absence failing, which the court will decide according to law. In May 2024, Niranjan filed a complaint stating that Shah, Reddy and others violated MCC during the Lok Sabha election rally in the old city.
