Indian Student Dies in US After Speeding Car Accident; Family Seeks Help

Hyderabad: Guntipalli Sowmya, 25, of Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district died in the United States when a speeding car hit her on Sunday, it was stated.

Soumya had completed her masters from Florida Atlantic University four months ago, and was trying to find a job through a consultancy, her brother Sai told Deccan Chronicle. She had celebrated her twenty-fifth birthday on May 11.

Sai said, “She had gone out to get groceries. When she was walking back to her room, a speeding car hit her from behind. She died on the spot.” he said. The local police were investigating the accident.

Soumya’s parents Koteswara Rao, Balamani and other members of her family have requested assistance to bring her body back to India.
