Hyderabad: Looking beyond the domain of science, intellectuals, and technocrats world over debating on whether the use of artificial intelligence is ethical in certain fields — something which Indian saints have been doing since ages, said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

“Indian sages always followed dharma, which is based on ethics and science whereas technocrats have started focusing on ethics for the use of artificial intelligence,” he pointed out, while delivering the valedictory lecture at Lokmanthan Bhagyanagar 2024, a conclave of nationalist thinkers and practitioners,

Mohan Bhagwat said India should find solutions to contemporary problems basing on its age-old values. “India should play by its age-old rules and values on its own ground, and allow the other nations to emulate them.”

“Our dharma has always been intertwined with scientific temper, whereas now modern scientists are looking at dharma to ensure that their latest inventions do not harm the society.”

Stressing on India’s philosophy of oneness, Bhagwat said, “When India is growing, we must take along all the friends with us. We should not leave when divisive forces try to disrupt the path. No one is an enemy for us nor should we treat anyone as our enemy in our journey,” he said.

Warning delegates about potential disruptions by divisive forces, the RSS chief observed divisive forces and divisive mindsets have been present in all ages. “When the churning of the milk ocean was done, it produced both nectar as well as poison.”

He made a passing reference to the outcome of the recent Assembly elections and some divisive persons blaming the responsible agencies for such an outcome.

Speaking on philosophy, the RSS chief said that the real truth cannot be found out from outside, but by searching within. “This is what our sages have done for ages and that’s why Sanatana Dharma will continue till the world exists.”

The Sangh chief said many people from other countries have been looking towards us for the rich human values which we have been maintaining for thousands of years. “The country must lead the world in this direction.”

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said some people in foreign countries such as Mexico, Australia, New Zealand among others have been searching for their roots and repenting over the total disappearance of their old culture and practices. “However, India is the only country which always lived with its glorious past, which it never ignored. Tribals in the country have always got their recognition, whereas the other nations have forgotten their own native people, driving native cultures to go extinct.”

Union culture minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the idea of India has turned popular after Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country. Based on rich cultural values, India is moving ahead to become a Vishwaguru and pointed out how India is moving in this direction.

Lokmanthan convener J. Nanda Gopal said that 1,502 delegates from India and 13 countries had taken part in the four-day-long convention which featured more than 150 cultural events involving over 1,568 artists. He said 2.1 lakh visitors had visited an associated exhibition.
