Hyderabad: Former BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao here on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Director-General of Police Ravi Gupta against former IAS officer and BRS Medak Parliament constituency candidate P Venkatarami Reddy requesting to appoint a senior IPS officer to conduct an independent probe into all his criminal cases.

In his complaint addressed to the DGP, Rao, who is also BJP Medak Parliament constituency candidate, said that in the crime number 243 of 2024 of Panjagutta police station, a police officer Radha Kishan Rao confessed on March 29, 2024, in his remand report, that he was a close associate of Reddy, an MLC, and his brothers and proprietor of Raj Pushpa Constructions, collected huge amounts from the businessmen of Hyderabad and sent the same through a Sub-Inspector (SI) by using government vehicles to different places where Assembly elections were conducted in November 2023.

The SI Sara Sai Kiran of Task Force, in his statement, agreed that Radha Kishan Rao entrusted him the duty to distribute money on behalf of Reddy. In another confession made by Radha Kishan Rao during his police custody on March 9, 2024 confessed that he provided funds to BRS during Assembly elections.

“The above statements, confessions and investigation reports clearly shows that Reddy on behalf of BRS involved in illegal transport of money collected from different people in the society misusing his previous designation and present MLC position with his close nexus with former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and his family,” he said.

It also clearly established that Reddy committed several offences relating to illegal money and misuse of his position in all serious non- bailable offences and was protected by the entire State machinery in BRS regime and therefore, Reddy escaped from clutches of law, prosecution and punishment.

“Though there is ample evidence in all the cases, no action has been taken against him, sending wrong signals to the public. Earlier, I already gave representation to your good office but no action was taken against him. Reddy is acting as no authority can take action against him,” Rao said.

“I request your good office to take stern action against Reddy and his accomplices who are involved in several criminal cases and also against his illegal money which all his family companies invested huge hundred of crores in various projects,” Rao said.
