Open to work in a Marathi film if
offered a good part, said Bobby Deol at the poster release of Dharmaveer 2
Dharmaveer 2 poster was recently unveiled by Maharashtra’s CM Eknath Shinde, alongside prominent figures like Bobby Deol, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Mahesh Kothare, and senior actor Ashok Saraf. The film will debut in both Marathi and Hindi.
Dharmaveer is a 2022 Indian Marathi-language biographical political drama film written and directed by Pravin Tarde and produced by Mangesh Desai. It’s the story of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe.
After the success of the film, Animal Bobby Deol is seen attending events as a special guest. For D2 also he was invited as special guest. Bobby was asked if he would like to debut in a Marathi? Pat, he replied, “It will be very challenging. Mujhe marathi pehle seekhna padegi. (I will have to learn Marathi first) Hum actors ka kam hi hai seekhna ... .so main Marathi seekh lunga. (We actors have to keep learning and performing in different languages.) “Yes, I am open to working in a Marathi film, but if given some good part.”
The recent Pan Indian releases of south and Hindi films have encouraged artists to work in other regional languages as well. There is no language barrier now.
