Reports of ₹ 25 cr losses to Ranveer-Prashanth’s untrue? Says insider, “they just did a promotional video”
Dismissing the rumours that the producers of the much-hyped Ranveer Singh-Prashanth Varma movie Rakshas incurred a loss of ₹ 25 crore as baseless, an industry bigwig clarifies, “They just shot promotional material for the film over two days. How could they they have spent ₹ 25 crore on that without even the film going on floors? So these rumours about ₹ 25 cr losses are completely false and baseless.” He further adds, “They just did a fantastic photoshoot for one day and a promotional video the next day with Ranveer Singh. It was supposed to be the first launch video of the magnum opus Brahmarakshas or Rakshas but there were unnecessary rumours around it before things fell into place.” In fact, Ranveer Singh was reportedly wowed by the work and vision of Telugu director Prashanth Varma, who is going places after the blockbuster HanuMan.
“Ranveer was floored by the exciting and larger-than-life script penned by Prashanth, and it was typical ‘South Indian thali’ meant to woo masses across the world,” he points out. It is said that Ranveer is likely to further discuss with Prashanth how to go about things and ‘sort out a few creative issues’ to deliver a big-ticket entertainer with a Telugu director.
