World of Warcraft gets another expansion
World of Warcraft is all set to receive a brand new expansion, the Battle of Azeroth.
The game that defined an entire generation of gamers, the world’s most popular, longest running and most financially successful ‘Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game’ (MMORPG), World of Warcraft is all set to receive a brand new expansion, the Battle of Azeroth. The lore of the latest content add on is set in the aftermath of the fall of the Burning Legion, which has set off a chain of cataclysmic and disastrous events and it falls on the players to set things right. In order to succeed the players will have to forge new alliances and their travels will take them to the unexplored and hallowed lands of Zandalar and Kul Tiras, where they must win the hearts and trust of the denizens and convince them to aid in the quest by joining forces.
As always, with an expansion of this magnitude means that players will get access to new characters and races each with unique race benefits and abilities. Warfronts is also being introduced that allows players to team up with 19 other champions and participate in long co-op PvE campaigns focussed around resource gathering, conquering and maintaining your base. Essentially a very RTS inspired game mode. Moreover, the level cap has been increased to 120 which adds to the end game content by giving you a rewarding progression system and a chance to grind for even more loot and gear.
Additionally, a loyal fan and user base has been championing the return of the vanilla WoW servers and it looks like Blizzard have listened. Players will now get the chance to play the vanilla game on the first build of the game, which, may alienate the newer user base, but will also result in the return of the WoW purist to the game and essentially broadens Blizzard’s subscriber base for the game. It looks like Blizzard is back with another potential home run with their upcoming WoW expansion and WoW still remains the gift that keeps on giving for the gaming giants.
