Microsoft has launched its News app, 23 years after the introduction of MSN, its debutant news platform. It utilizes modern technology for being better than the MSN and delivers a more evolved experience for reviewing daily updates from across the world. Microsoft News aims at combating the already popular news apps exclusive for iPhone and Android.
The news platform plays a host to around 3000 news publications and is linked with 1000 brands. For supplying high number of content in less time, the app employs AI technology and with the help of this it goes through 1,00,000 content chunks everyday. For powering it with human help, 800 human editors work with it from across the world.
Similar to its competitors, Microsoft News asks you to select the categories of news you would be interested in and delivers suggestions and notifications accordingly. It can also serve as the citizen journalism app for city dwellers who want to stay updated with the local news. Moreover, it also offers light and dark theme options for the app since the latter could be helpful for reading in dark ambience.
