Apple is rumored to unveil the “iPhone 17 Air” later this year. It is said to boast an ultra-thin design, with the thinnest part measuring just 5.5mm.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in his blog post, mentioned that the iPhone 17 Air will not have a physical SIM card slot. Instead, it will only support eSIM due to its ultra-thin design, which was previously reported.
If these measurements turn out to be accurate, then the iPhone 17 Air will be the thinnest iPhone ever, topping the iPhone 6, which measures 6.9mm thick.
The iPhone 17 Air is said to have an ultra-thin chassis with a thick rear camera bump. The device is rumoured to come with a single 48MP rear camera.
The device is rumoured to replace the iPhone 17 Plus model and will launch alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max this September. Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the iPhone 17 Air will enter mass production in the second half of 2025, but he said that it likely won’t significantly boost overall iPhone sales due to “downgraded components paired with a high price and a user experience similar to current models.”
Apart from the camera, rumored “iPhone 17 Air” features include a 6.6-inch display, an A19 chip, Face ID, a Dynamic Island, a 24MP front camera, 8GB of RAM for Apple Intelligence, and Apple’s 5G modem.
