Full-screen SHARP Aquos S2 to be unveiled on 14th August in China
The smartphone is claimed to sport 84.95 percent screen-to-body ratio, more than a Xiaomi Mi Mix.
2017 has seen some great looking smartphones with fewer of those ugly bezels that have been associated with display technology on mobile devices for years. Xiaomi’s Mi Mix started the trend year, followed by Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and LG’s G6. However, one manufacturer from Japan had already achieved slim-bezel displays on smartphones back in 2013 — SHARP. And now, they are coming back to the scene with their latest phone to face the bezel-less flagships of today.
The SHARP Aquos S2 has been slated for unveiling in China on 14th of August. The smartphone is supposed to have 84.95 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is more than that of Xiaomi Mi Mix’s 83.6 percent. The smartphone is expected to have the remaining space for housing the front camera. SHARP’s intention is to make the 5.5-inch smartphone feel like a 5.0-inch device.
The Aquos S2 is expected to hide the earpiece and the sensors under the display like Xiaomi’s MI Mix. The leaked photos of the device also suggest that the smartphone could be housing an under-the-display fingerprint scanner and will be built in limited numbers of 105. However, nothing else is known about the other specifications of the smartphone. Stay tuned for more information on the SHARP Aquos S2.
