In order to make its presence felt in the flagship smartphone category in India, LG has launched their flagship G7+ ThinQ. The smartphone has been priced at Rs 39,990, thereby pitting it against the OnePlus 6 and Vivo NEX. The handset will go on sale from August 10 on Flipkart.

The G7+ ThinQ adopts the modern trend of sporting a notched-display design — a 6.1-inch QHD+ FullView display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display supports DCI-P3 colour gamut, with brightness going up to 1000 nits. The G7+ ThinQ also sports a dedicated Google Assistant button like Samsung’s Bixby key on the Galaxy S9+. The glass-metal body also gets IP68 water and dust resistance certification along with MIL-STD 810G standard protection.

The G7+ ThinQ is built around a Snapdragon 845 chipset paired along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Users can also expand storage up to 2TB. The G7+ ThinQ runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with LG UX 7.0 atop. For the optics, there’s a dual camera setup for the rear — a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture and the secondary wide-angle 16MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture. An 8MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture looks after selfie duties. LG has baked in several AI features into the camera app with 19 shooting modes and three presets.

The smartphone is kept alive by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device also features a 3.5mm headphone jack aided by a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for enhanced audio quality.
