Andhra Pradesh: CBC Conducts Hindi Fortnight at Women’s College

Vijayawada: Learning Hindi, a language that has more acceptance across the country in several states, would increase educational and employment opportunities for the students, said Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) Guntur field publicity officer R. Ramesh Chandra. He suggested that getting command over their mother tongue would help them to learn the Hindi language with ease. He was speaking at the Hindi Fortnight at the Government Women’s College, Guntur on Saturday.

Addressing the students gathering, he explained the historical background of the announcement of Hindi as an official language and various activities to propagate the language to the students. Ramesh Chandra said that Telugu and Hindi have many similarities and with the advent of technologies and online learning tools, it is easy to learn the language.

Women’s College principal Dr V.R. Jyotsna Kumari said Hindi was the unifying thread in a diverse linguistic country like India. She appreciated the students' enthusiasm in participating in various Hindi competitions to celebrate Hindi fortnight in the college. College Hindi lecturer Dr K. Vijaya Kumari explained the historical reasons for accepting Hindi as an official language, and the efforts of the government and educational institutions in propagating the language usage.
