Tirupati: The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has introduced new guidelines restricting direct bill payments through popular UPI apps like Phone Pe, Google Pay, and Paytm for electricity bills.

According to the announcement made on Tuesday by the APSPDCL chairman and managing director K. Santosh Rao, consumers must now use the company’s official mobile app or website, www.apspdcl.in, for bill payments.
While direct UPI payments are no longer accepted, consumers can still utilise UPI for payments if accessed through the APSPDCL platforms. The company clarifies that customers can continue using various payment methods, including net banking, credit cards, debit cards, wallets, and cash cards, along with UPI options available within the APSPDCL app and website. The APSPDCL chairman stated that the changes aim to improve payment security and streamline the billing process for the power distribution company.
He urged all consumers to adapt to these new payment procedures to ensure uninterrupted service and compliance with the latest regulations.
