Lorry Collides with Explosives-Laden Army Container in Bapatla

Bapatla: A lorry collided with an explosives-laden army container on Wednesday at Bodduvanipalem in Korishapadu, Bapatla district. 

A person was grievously injured in the incident. According to the police, containers laden with explosives that belonged to the Army were parked at a fuel station. A rice-laden lorry collided with the parked container from behind, triggering a fire. The driver was trapped in the cabin. Locals used buckets of water to help douse the fire. After receiving information, fire tenders arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control. It took more than an hour to rescue the trapped driver from the cabin. The driver was then transported to Ongole for treatment. A case has been registered.
