TIRUPATI: A road accident on Bakarapeta Ghat Road in Chandragiri mandal, Tirupati district, on Thursday resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.

The incident involved a container truck, carrying tomatoes from Kalakada to Chennai, which lost control at a bend and overturned onto an oncoming car. The collision claimed three lives, including one individual from Karnataka. The identities of the other two deceased are yet to be confirmed.

The SP also mentioned that additional police forces, including additional SP Ravi Manoharachari, DSP Narasingappa (in charge of Chandragiri), and CIs Subba Rami Reddy and Imran Basha, along with local police from Bakarapeta and Chandragiri, are involved in rescue operations and managing the accident site.
