Telangana Governor Hails MDS Institutions’ Initiatives to Encourage Women
Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited the Mahila Dakshata Samithi (MDS) Educational Institutions, a renowned organization that has been dedicated to social service for over four decades.
Established with the primary objective of empowering women through higher education, MDS has made significant contributions to the academic and social upliftment of women in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Jishnu Dev Varma said the MDS has been making a remarkable impact on the lives of girls from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, empowering them through education and holistic development.
Led by Dr. Saroj Bajaj, MDS has been transforming lives for over the decades by providing opportunities for orphans, daughters of single parents, and children of daily wage earners. The organization’s initiatives, such as Suman Nilayam hostel and other educational institutions, go beyond academics, fostering confidence, resilience, and self-reliance.
These efforts align with Swami Vivekananda’s vision that the welfare of the world depends on the improvement of women’s condition. MDS has already empowered over 10,000 students, many of whom have excelled in their careers in healthcare, technology, banking, and more.
Speaking further he said, the upcoming Nirmala Goenka Girls hostel promises to further support these young women in pursuing their dreams. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “If you educate a woman, you educate an entire family.” MDS exemplifies this truth, contributing to a more equitable and empowered society. Let us celebrate and support MDS’s work, for empowering women is key to building a stronger future for all. Congratulations to the visionary leaders and members of MDS for their dedication and commitment.
